Following is important information relating to your car hire with Ned Kelly Car Rentals.
Location : Ned Kelly Car Rentals is conveniently located opposite the Gold Coast Airport. We offer a free pick up / return service to the Gold Coast Airport and local area during business hours 8am – 5pm. Arrangements can be made if flying outside of these hours - however a surcharge may apply. Brisbane Airport : Although Ned Kelly Car Rentals does not have a Brisbane Airport office we do offer a pick up / return service for an $80.00 fee. This is subject to arrival and departure times, please ask staff for further details. Rates : Our customers are reminded that all our rates include GST and WE DO NOT charge Airport taxes , vehicle registration fee or premium location fee. Once you have booked your car the price quoted will not change. Rental Duration : A minimum 1 day car hire applies. Extra hours are charged at $8 per hour up to 4 hours, after that rental becomes another day. Rental vehicle is due back according to the time shown on rental agreement and any extensions beyond this time / date must be authorised by a staff member of Ned Kelly Car Rentals. Failure to do this will result in breach of the rental agreement. Damage Liability : Comprehensive insurance cover is included in our daily rates. A standard damage liability of $2600 applies however this may be reduced for an extra fee. See Insurance options in the booking form for more details. Drivers Licenses : We accept all current Australian, overseas and international drivers licenses. Minimum age is 21 and full P plate drivers are accepted with a minimum 2yrs experience on P plates. An age surcharge of $10 applies to each additional driver between 21 – 24 years of age. Method of payment : all customers must present a valid credit card in their name with sufficient funds to cover the nominated excess. Our preferred credit cards are Visa and Mastercard. ( Amex and Diners are also accepted however incur a merchant fee of 4.5 % ). Cash and eftpos payments are also accepted subject to conditions, please speak to staff regarding these methods. Child restraints : We carry a wide range of new born rear facing seats through to booster seats at $3 per day. Although we take great care in installing baby seats for our customers it is the responsibility of the hirer for satisfactory installation. Hard Racks : Ned Kelly Car rentals have been servicing the surfing industry for many years and have realised the need to supply customers with hard racks for carrying their boards. We can install Hard Racks on the Nissan X-Trail and Mazda 6 wagon models for an extra $2 day. These can carry up to 10 short boards and are a great way to ensure no damage to the roof of our cars. Soft racks are also available which can be installed on any car however are more suited for 1-2 boards. Please note hirer is responsible for installation and damage to our rental vehicle which may occur. Roadside assistance : 24 hour breakdown service is available through RACQ on all our rentals. Please note that in the event of a human error call out eg keys locked in car; flat battery due to lights being left on, door left ajar or run out of fuel a $50.00 service fee applies. Fuel : We ask all customers to return fuel to original starting level at commencement of rental. We are unable to offer credit or refunds for returns with excess fuel. Area of Use : We offer a standard ‘area of use’ which includes a 300 km radius from our office. We may extend this subject to length of rental and written authorization from a Ned Kelly staff member. Unauthorized use outside of our ‘area of use’ will result in all waivers & insurance being void due to breach of contract. Street Directories : We supply Gold Coast , Brisbane and Sunshine Coast street directories on request. We also have a range of brochures and tourist information at our office so you can get the most out of your holiday experience. Traffic Infringements : In the unfortunate event of receiving a traffic infringement during your rental period and is unpaid before the due date this will result in a $20 administration fee.
